On the right: A Ramses-style headdress at Temperley London.)Much like the asymmetric 2-dimensional aesthetic favored in ancient Egyptian figural representation, the clothing echos these traditions often creating interestingly balanced silhouettes that change depending on your vantage point. And make no mistake these are dresses you'll want to look at from every single angle.
And of course elaborate beading and embellishments are hallmarks of these Egyptian inspired
trends as much as extreme styling is essential to completing the look.
(on the left: Rachel Zimmer At Zac Posen , and on the right: Hair and Makeup for Dior's runway)Given some of the cultural shifts that have taken place in the last couple years, is it too ominous a an insinuation to ask if designers see some kind of link between now and then? and if so which 'then' we must ask. 'Then' during the Kingdoms? or 'Then' during the decline?

Or maybe it's much more simple than all that: maybe much like myself these designers rented Season 2 of Rome and where smitten with the fashions of Cleopatra's court.
